Meerkat Burrows are a new structure found in deserts. A few meerkats will spawn around each burrow.

When it sees a scary mob, the meerkat will burrow into the sand:

They'll check every few seconds for danger and pop back out if its clear.

Oasis

Find an Oasis in the desert for a source of fresh water, plants, and the occasional Palm Tree.
