Moar Spears

Spears are pretty sweet, with cool animations and loads of unique ways to use them. But I wanted MOAR! So, I decided to make Moar Spears, adding 16 new spears to the game all with unique powers and abilities. These range from simple ones like the Slime or Piston spears that deal some knockback, or the TNT spear that causes explosions on hit, to more complex spears like the Dripstone or Prismarine spears that shoot deadly projectiles. I threw in a couple silly ones too. Game balance wasn’t super in focus, so these may end up being somewhat overpowered, however they should in theory fit fairly well into the vanilla game.

You can craft them in a vanilla Crafting Table. All recipes can all be found HERE, or in-game in the Recipe Guide.

So, what do the spears do?

  • Disaspear:
    • While ramming you are invisible, but mobs hit also become invisible.

  • Drill Spear:
    • Mines blocks in front of you.

  • Dripstone Spear:
    • Launches pointed dripstones.

  • Fishing Spear:
    • Makes fish drop more loot.

  • Goat Spear:
    • Summons charging mobs.

  • Grabbing Spear:
    • Lets you pick up mobs. Note: This doesn’t work on players.

  • Lance:
    • Very strong on a mount, but useless everywhere else.

  • Magma Spear:
    • Shoots fireballs.

  • Piston Spear:
    • Knocks mobs up and away from you.

  • Piston Sword:
    • It can send mobs flying. Essentially just a weak sword with knockback III.

  • Prismarine Spear:
    • Turns you into a guardian. Ramming makes thorns appear around you. Left-click shoots a rainbow laser.

  • Slime Spear:
    • Launches you and your target backwards.

  • Spear Blossom:
    • Leaves a trail of exploding spores that cause withering.

  • Spearmint:
    • Drinking this throws spears around you.

  • Spear Tire:
    • Makes mobs you hit “tired”. While tired, mobs cannot move.

  • TNT Spear:
    • Leaves a trail of TNT behind you.

  • Wind Spear:
    • Float Like a Butterfly, Sting Like a Breeze.
